Lankaji Vihara to hold Katina Pooja Mahotsava

The annual Katina Pooja Mahotsava of the Lankaji Vihara located in Savara, Japan, will be celebrated on Sunday (12) under the patronage of Chief Incumbent of the Asgiri Chapter Most Venerable Warakagoda Gnanarathana Thera, said the President of the Sri Lanka Mahabodhi Society, the Chief Sanghanayake of Japan, Ven. Banagala Upatissa Thera.

The Maha Sangha, led by the Asgiri prelates, has already travelled to Japan to participate in this Katina Pinkama.

The Katina Pooja will be held with the main contribution of Anil Priyantha, a resident of Gamaathi, Japan, with the participation of Sri Lankan people and students living in Japan, as well as Japanese Buddhists.

The Katina Pooja will be accompanied by several other religious events including Sanghata Dakshina, Bodhi Pooja, Atavisi Gilanpasa Buddha Pooja and Dharmanushasana.
