Sri Lanka girls team along with Nepal and Iran have qualified to play in the ITF world junior Tennis competition Asia /Oceania final qualifying round to be held in Thailand from March 21 to 26.
Lankan lasses maintained a superb record throughout the pre-qualifiers and completed the tourney unbeaten. Lankan girls bet Mongolia 3/0, Singapore 3/0, Iran 2/1, Nepal 3/0. Altogether nine countries participated in girls tournament namely Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Mongolia, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka completed on top of the pre-qualifiers followed by Iran and Nepal in second and third places.
Meanwhile Lankan boys team did not qualify for final qualifying round as they had to be satisfied with the fourth place at pre-qualifiers. Jordan won the first place and Ireland won the second place. Boys’ final qualifying round will also worked off in Thailand from March 21 to 26.
