Library and Information Science Certificate awards ceremony at Kelaniya University on Sunday

The certificate awarding ceremony for the Diploma and Higher Diploma Courses in Library and Information Science will be held on October 13 at 9 a.m. onward at the Auditorium of the Social Sciences Faculty, Kelaniya University.

Executive Director of the United States – Sri Lanka Fulbright Commission, Dr. Patrice McNamara will be the Chief Guest and he will deliver a lecture on “I Can’t Live Without Books”.

The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. H. M. Gunathilake will be the Guest of Honour.

Senior Professors M. K. Weerasinghe, W. A. Weerasooriya and other senior professionals will attend the ceremony.

The Library and Information Science Department has been considered the hub of library education in Sri Lanka since 1973. The Department conducts a number of professional courses every year to provide trained manpower to Library and Information Science in Sri Lanka. Presently, applications have called for the part 01/level 01 of the Diploma in Library and Information Science conducted by the Library and Information Science Department.
