Limited inter-provincial public transport services from next month

A limited number of buses and trains will operate across provinces from next month, Vehicle Regulation, Bus Transport Services and Train Compartments and Motor Car Industry State Minister Dilum Amunugama said.

He said limited inter-provincial public transport services would commence next month irrespective of whether travel restrictions would be further relaxed or remain unchanged.

He said the Special Committee overseeing the COVID-19 mitigation activities gave approval to commence inter-provincial public transport services in a limited way.
He was speaking to the media in Matara.

Currently, inter-provincial travel was prohibited to contain the spread of COVID-19.
