LIOC donates Wheelchairs on India Day
Lanka Indian Oil Co. (LIOC) donated wheelchairs to underprivileged, disabled persons, on 15th August, to mark the 77th Independence Day of India.
The wheelchairs were handed over by His Excellency Sri Gopal Baglay, High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, in the presence of LIOC MD Sri Dipak Das.
The beneficiaries were from around the country, such as Ja-Ela, Chilaw, Batticaloa, Pasyala, Kadawatha, Moratuwa, etc
As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), LIOC PLC has undertaken an inspiring initiative, to create a positive impact on the lives of individuals with mobility challenges, by donating wheelchairs to underserved communities.
Thus showcasing its commitment to making a difference, with a strong focus on creating sustainable and meaningful change to those who often find themselves marginalized due to mobility impairments.
The initiative’s core goal is to empower disabled individuals with the gift of increased mobility, thus enhancing their quality of life and promoting inclusivity.
Indian CEO Forum Chairman Sri T S Prakash and Sri Lanka-India Society President Sri Kishore Reddy also graced the occasion.
