Litro Gas to inform Court today on composition of domestic gas cylinder
The Court of Appeal yesterday granted permission to Litro Gas to inform Court today on the composition of a domestic gas cylinder and the possibility of displaying the relevant details.
Such permission was granted when the Writ Application filed seeking legal action against gas companies and responsible individuals who imported and distributed unsafe domestic gas to the country was taken up at the Court of Appeal. The application seeks legal action be taken under Criminal Law.
President’s Counsel Harsha Amarasekera said that steps have been already taken to recall the unopened gas cylinders which have been sold to consumers.
He said an assurance cannot be given for certain suggestions made in court and advice will be sought from the gas companies with the regard to the practical implementation of those suggestions and requested time for this purpose until Wednesday.
