Lohan Ratwatte admitted to Prison Hospital

Former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte held in remand custody till November 7 has been admitted to the Welikada Prison Hospital.

Prisons Commissioner and Media Spokesperson Gamini Dissanayake said Ratwatte was transferred to the prison hospital in compliance with the court order to provide him with continuous medical treatment.

Hospital sources indicate that Ratwatte is suffering from several medical conditions, including pancreatitis and fatty liver disease, requiring regular medication. Consequently, he was sent to the prison hospital for uninterrupted care.Additionally, as Ratwatte is a former Prison Management and Prisoners Rehabilitation State Minister, court has instructed the prison authorities to provide him with special security within the prison.
