Puttalam Division Criminal Investigation Unit Officers and Madurankuliya Police yesterday arrested three suspects involved in the theft of more than Rs.10 million from an ATM machine of a private bank at the 10th Mile Post in Madurankuliya.
Police also found around Rs. 9.2 million of the stolen money in possession of the suspects.
Thieves stole nearly Rs.10.5 Mn on October 7, by using keys and using the relevant secret numbers properly, pretending to be maintenance workers from the ATM machine.
Within 10 days of the robbery, the two main suspects who led the robbery, along with a suspect who supported them, were arrested by the Police.
