Madushan and Nadeeka best powerlifters of Kalutara

The award ceremony of the Kalutara district powerlifting competition was held on July 30 at the Wadduwa Sri Lankaramya Viharaya under the guidance of the viharadhipathi Dhammawansa Thero. The popular lawyer and pilot Mishara Kethaka Fernando participated in the awards ceremony as the Chief Guest and presented certificates, medals and trophies.

The competition was held at the Karunaratne memorial Bodybuilding and fitness centre, Bandaragama on July 23 and was organized by the Sakthi Powerlifting Club under the guidance of coach and Powerlifting Instructor I.P. Nandasena with the aim of promoting and uplifting powerlifting among the youngsters of Kalutara district.

During these competitions M.T.I. Madushan(490kgs) was adjudged the best player in the men’s categories and H.N.H. Nadeeka Amarasri(235kgs) was chosen as the best player in the women’s categories meanwhile Vinul Fernando(52kgs) and E.A.D. Nawothya Epitawala(352.5) were the highest weight lifters in the men’s and women’s categories respectively.
