Magistrate visits three criminals in CID

Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday visited the CID to observe the condition of three underworld criminals namely Salindu Gunaratne alias Kudu Salidu, Kasun Chinthaka alias Harak Kata and Amila Susira alias Panadura Chutte who are being interrogated by the Criminal Investigation Department after their deportation from Madagascar.

The defendants were arrested for leading members of underworld gangs in Sri Lanka, murders, drug trafficking, organized crime, and obstructing national security and public order.

The magistrate observed that there were no injuries or anything suspicious to the suspects and that the three suspects were under proper ventilation and that they had toilet facilities and bathroom facilities.

After observing the conditions where the three suspects are detained, the Magistrate allowed the Criminal Investigation Department to further detain them and interrogate them.

The Magistrate thereafter made official notes and orders in the case book.
