Mahmudullah Riyad and Taskin Ahmed’s century stand for the ninth wicket demoralised the hosts as Bangladesh’s total went past 400 without the overnight batsmen being dismissed in the opening session of Day 2.
Mahmudullah reached a brilliant century while Taskin got a fifty for himself as Bangladesh went to lunch on 404 for eight.
Mahmudullah targeted the front of the wicket for his runs with most of them coming in the cover and mid-wicket regions.
He smashed 11 fours in his unbeaten 112 while Taskin had eight boundaries in his 52 not out as runs flowed in the session at a rapid pace, putting Bangladesh in control.
