Maldivian arrested with heroin in Kohuwala

Kohuwala Police on Tuesday arrested a Maldivian national, who had come to Sri Lanka to undergo a surgery

 at Kalubowila Hospital, while in possession of 30mg of heroin.

The suspect (39) is said to be a drug addict. He was temporarily staying at Anderson Road, Kalubowila. The Police had checked him in Kohuwala.

He arrived in Sri Lanka about three weeks ago. Foreigners have to pay if they want to receive treatment from a Government hospital. Police said investigations were on to check whether he tried to get the surgery done disguising as a Sri Lankan.
