Man absconding after shooting at wife

Tangalle Police say that a husband shot his wife with an air rifle due to a family dispute. He has fled the area after the incident.

The suspect is a fisherman from Tangalle. A 48-year-old mother of three was injured.

She has been admitted to Tangalle Hospital. According to Police sources the victim’s condition is not serious.

The Police say that investigations are being conducted to arrest the absconding husband.

The shooting took place on Monday night (2).
