A suspect was arrested in Galle on Friday (05) with nearly 3,000 narcotic pills, including Tramadol and Pregabalin, along with Rs. 125,000 in cash during a police raid.
The arrest was made by officers attached to the Anti-Corruption Unit of the Galle Police following a tip-off that a stock of illegal pharmaceutical drugs was being stored at a house in the area.
Police recovered the pills and cash during the search operation.
Investigations revealed that the suspect is employed at a private pharmacy, according to police.
The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Galle Magistrate’s Court on Saturday (06).
