Man shoots ex-fiance, takes his life in Vavuniya

A man from Vavuniya who had shot a woman to death has also committed suicide by shooting himself. Vavuniya Parayanalankulam Police said that the deceased woman had a romantic relationship with this person before marrying another person. Both the deceased had lived in the same village.

The assailant had come to the woman’s house and shot her dead and had gone to the Neeliamottai Kovil and shot himself with the same gun there. The deceased are a 26-year-old woman, Newton Darshani, and a twenty-four-year-old man, Sivapalan Sujanthan.

The two bodies have been brought to the Vavuniya General Hospital for post-mortem investigations and Parayanalankulam police are conducting investigations into the incident.
