Man shot in Battaramulla, succumbs

Thalangama Police said that the person who was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital yesterday (25) after an individual who came on a motorcycle shot at him at Robert Gunawardena Mawatha in Battaramulla succumbed to his injuries.

The injured person has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Colombo National Hospital and was scheduled to undergo surgery. According to the police, information has been revealed that the injured person was a close associate of underworld gangster ‘Battaramulla Bandi’ who is currently in Dubai.

Police suspect that this shooting is the result of a conflict between two factions of drug traffickers. A person who had arrived on a motorcycle had carried out this shooting and fled and investigations are underway to find the suspects.Talangama police are investigating the incident.
