Man who fled to Dubai after car crash arrested upon return

The man aged 26 who flew to Dubai after a fatal car accident in Bambalapitiya on last Saturday was arrested at the BIA on Monday night upon his arrival by the Immigration and Emigration officials.

He had fled to Dubai within four hours after the accident. He was handed over to the Kollupitiya police by the Immigration and Emigration officials. He was remanded till December 16.

A 59 year-old three-wheel driver had died when a luxury car returning from a nightclub in Bambalapitiya, Colombo smashed into his three wheeler in Kollupitiya on Saturday morning.

The car is said to have been driven by millionaire businessman Riyul Rizzaq and three women and a man had been with him inside the car at the time of the accident.
