Man with live bullet arrested in Kaduwela Court

The Kaduwela Police said that a person was arrested for trying to bring a live cartridge used for three or three types of firearms into the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court. It was a live 77 mm bullet.

People coming for the proceedings of the court are subject to inspection near the guard post of the main gate and during the inspection conducted by Police Sergeant Abeynayake 4391, this live bullet was found in the suspect’s bag.Police also said that the suspect did not give a clear statement when asked about it. Police investigations have revealed that the suspect was in court to appear for a case.

Police are conducting investigations from several aspects as to why the suspect tried to take this live bullet into court. The suspect is a resident of Dippitigoda in Kelaniya. Investigations are being conducted on the instructions of Kaduwela Police OIC Inspector Khan Weerasinghe.
