Manuth – Most Promising Junior Men’s Squash Player

Manuth Dassanayake of Gateway College Colombo adjudged the Most Promising Junior mens Player of the Year at the Ritzbury Sri Lanka Junior National Squash Championship 2023 sponsored by Ceylon Biscuits Limited held at the Air Force Squash Courts in Ratmalana.

Manuth was the winner of both under 13 and under 15 Boys categories and adjudged the Most Promising Junior player of the year. He holds the Top National Ranking for both age groups.

Manuth started playing Squash at the age of seven in the year 2017 and won the first Championship in year 2019 at the Air Force Open Squash Championship in Under 9 age group. There on he had won many Championships including Junior Nationals at the Under 11, 13, & 15 age groups and holding the Top National Ranking for all age groups. He had represented Sri Lanka in under 13 & 15 age groups at the Asian Junior Squash Championships held in Thailand & China in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

Manuth is a proud product of Gateway College Colombo and the coach Chaminda Thalagala was instrumental in all his achievements.
