Matale Old Thomians’ Cricket Union

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Matale Old Thomians Cricket Union (MOTCU) was held recently.

This MOTCU was established with the main objective of promoting cricket among junior students of the school.

The Union has now grown in leaps and bounds under the patronage of the distinguished alumni of the prestigious seat of education in the area.

This year’s AGM was held via online due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation in the island.

The newly appointed office-bearers:

Patrons: Dhammika Hewawasam (Principal, St. Thomas’ Matale), Lasantha Balasooriya (President, St. Thomas’ Matale Old Boys’ Association) and Chanaka Welagedera (Old Thomian and former Test cricketer).

President: Srimal Senanayake, Secretary: Ranjan Makewita, Treasurer: Pandula Udupihilla, Committee Members: Tharindu Gunarathna, Sarath Halangoda, Wajira Liyanage, A. J. B. Wijekoon, Buddhika Lewkebandara and Priyantha de Silva. (YK)
