The image renovation project of Sinopec filling station in Sri Lanka, solely funded by Sinopec Overseas, was successfully completed by MCC International Incorporation Ltd. (MCCI) on 4 June. The project was officially signed up on 22, April 2024.
It is MCCI’s first independent construction project in the petrochemical industry of Sri Lanka, involving high construction safety risks, a tight schedule, and significant organizational challenges.
MCCI made precise arrangements, with various departments working together seamlessly, organizing a strong team to quickly commence construction. The project officially started on May 11.
With the strong support and assistance of Sinopec’s specialists, MCCI team as overcome adverse effects such as shipping delays and construction during the rainy season, completing the safety hazard modifications in 7 days and the entire image renovation in 6 days, achieving the goal of “MCC Speed, Sinopec Quality”.

MCCI team also received high recognition and praise from Sinopec’s expert team.
The successful handover of the first station in Colombo has accumulated experience and laid a solid foundation for the continued implementation of subsequent filling station projects.
MCCI will take it as an opportunity to continue to uphold the corporate spirit of “Never delaying and never slacking” and further develop their cooperation with Sinopec, promoting high-quality development.
To date, MCC has a commendable track record in Sri Lanka, having successfully completed the Colombo-Katunayake Airport Expressway in 2013, Outer Circular Highway NS II in 2019 and is currently engaged in the construction of Central Expressway Section 1.
MCC has also played a pivotal role in facilitating funding for these projects, totaling over USD 2.0 billion in Sri Lanka.
Sinopec is the largest oil and petrochemical products supplier and the second largest oil and gas producer in China, the largest refining company and the second largest chemical company in the world.
Its total number of gas stations ranks second place in the world. It ranked 6th on Fortune’s Global 500 List in 2023.
