Methwan, Ruvi clinch U-16 tennis titles

Methwan Wijemanne of Royal College and Ruvi Lewkebandara of Gateway International Colombo emerged boys and girls under 16 singles champions at the First Capital SSC Open Tennis Championship played at SSC tennis courts yesterday.

Methwan defeated Sandaru Guruge of St Peter’s Bambalapitiya with two straight sets 6/3,6/4 at the boys under 16 final while Ruvi outclassed Melasa Randini of Newstad College Negambo 6/3, 6/1 to take girls under 16 title.
