Mike Biotech Asia bags four awards at NBE

Mike Biotech Asia (Pvt) Ltd (MBA) a leader in Plant Tissue Culture recently received four awards conducted by the National Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka.

The annual awards ceremony was conducted at Shangri La Hotel to recognize excellence in business performance by the Sri Lankan National Business Enterprises, both local and international markets.

The event was held in the presence of top businessmen, representatives of leading organizations, diplomatic missions, senior government and private sector officials and other invitees.

The Plant Tissue Culture Lab which comes under Mike Group of Companies received three ‘Golds Awards’ and a bronze under the medium range business sector.

MBA, Chairman and Managing Director Mihindu Keerthiratne said, winning an award is a significant achievement and it is the first time the Floriculture Industry in Sri Lanka was bestowed with such a recognition.

Mike Group of Companies won Gold Awards for the Medium Business Sector, the Excellence in Global Market Reach and Agriculture and Plantations Sector while the Bronze award was won for the overall winner of the entire Business Sector.

Mike Biotech Asia (Pvt) Ltd a leader in Plant Tissue Culture and has established their professionalism and commitment towards the industry. A prominent Tissue Culture Lab in Sri Lanka and its modern laboratory is managed with skilled professionals.

The lab is equipped with a capacity to produce six million plants across seventy two varieties and the recently opened lab comprises two transfer rooms and two growth rooms. The transfer rooms can hold up to sixteen double lamina flow cabinets where thirty two operators are able to handle plants. Meanwhile two growth rooms can hold up to 100,000 vessels at a time. The expansion has given the opportunity and facility to increase its capacity to serve customer requirements.
