The Principal of Millaniya Gangamuwa Primary School in Horana and two police officers who were arrested and remanded for torturing three fifth grade students at the school, were released on bail by Colombo Additional Magistrate Keminda Perera yesterday.
They were released on two sureties of Rs.1 million each.
The Magistrate made this order subsequent to the submissions made by President’s Counsel Kalinga Indatissa.
Three Grade 5 students from the Millaniya Primary School in Horana were accused of stealing money from the bag of a school teacher and were punished by the school teacher and principal. The Magistrate fixed further inquiries for January 18.
