Minister Dr. Gunawardhana inspects Kottawa Malapalla Housing Scheme construction
Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana inspected the construction of the Kottawa Malapalla Housing Scheme, under the Railway Efficiency Improvement Project, to resettle unauthorised dwellers of reservation lands near the Kelani Valley Railway line.
This Housing Scheme of 120 units, will resettle families living in unauthorised dwellings near the Railway line from Maharagama to Padukka.
The construction funded by the Asian Development Bank, started on June 21, 2021, at an estimated cost of Rs.1,317,013,808.98 , and to date 45% of the construction has been completed.
Railways General Manager W.A.D.S Gunasinghe, Deputy General Manager (Infrastructure) H. M. W. Bandara, Road Development Authority Director General S. Weerakoon, and officials accompanied the Minister.
