Minister Dr. Wijeyadasa elected SLFP Chairman
The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Executive Committee in a unanimous vote elected Justice Minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, PC as the new Party Chairman at a meeting held at a hotel in Kotte yesterday.
It followed the resignation of former President Maithripala Sirisena as the SLFP Chairman allowing Dr. Rajapakshe’s election.
In addition, the Executive Committee has also unanimously approved the appointment of attorney Keerthi Udawatta as the acting General Secretary replacing MP Sarathi Dushmantha Mithrapala.
