MMBL-Money Transfer network share up to 5% of Lanka’s Worker Remittances
The shares of MMBL-Money Transfer network, which consists of over 3,000 agents spread throughout Sri Lanka grew to 5% of Sri Lanka’s Worker Remittances.
Worker remittances brought into Sri Lanka through the MMBL-Money Transfer network grew at 44% to US$ 159.3 million in the first half of 2024.
MMBL-Money Transfer represented a 5% share of Sri Lanka’s total worker remittances and a 78% share of Western Union remittances to Sri Lanka during this period.
MMBL-Money Transfer is a 50/50 joint-venture between Aitken Spence PLC and the MMBL-Pathfinder Group.
The MMBL-Money Transfer network is the largest international money transfer network in the country. Through Western Union, MMBL-Money Transfer connects Sri Lanka to the largest global money transfer network spanning over 200 countries and 550,000 agents worldwide.
