Mom arrested on daughter’s complaint

A mother who pawned her daughter’s jewellery bought for her wedding for Rs. 400,000 and played at a casino has been arrested by Borella Police following a complaint by the daughter.

The daughter had complained that the mother had stolen the jewellery that she bought for the upcoming wedding and kept in a closet at home.

According to the police, the mother has confessed that she had used the money to play games at a casino.

The suspect has been remanded until November 17.
