More than 600 schools to participate

More than 600 schools are expected to take part at the Sir John Tarbet Senior Athletic Schools Championship which will be worked off from September 13 to 16 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium Diyagama.

Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association (SLSAA) headed by Dr Kusala Fernando will conduct this event while CBL Foods International Ltd the makers of Ritzbury giving their tenth successive sponsorship to this event.

Dr Kusala Fernando the President of SLSAA said this is going to be good platform for the school athletes to showcase their skills and best way to reach the National level while Ritzbury once again came forward to make this event a success.

The athletes who have qualified from the regional meets will take part in the finals of the Sir John Tarbet Junior meet which is scheduled to be held in next December.

We have not decided exact dates for this junior meet finals because of the G.C E A/ L exam. Athletes are very keen to take part in this event. The first regional meet at Anuradhapura will be held on August 30/31, while second regional meet at Embilipitiya will be held on September 22,23.

The third regional meet scheduled to be held on September 29,30 at Bandaragama.

The General Manager Marketing CBL Foods International Ltd Nilupul Fernando said Ritzbury always very keen to give their support to upcoming athletes while the scholarship program from Ritzbury is very successful to get young athletes to the National level.
