Mother arrested for brutal assault on daughter
The Child and Women Abuse Prevention Division of Sri Lanka Police said that a 43-year-old mother was arrested for beating her 8-year-old daughter with a stick.
The mother has beaten her daughter as the girl has given four betel leaves to a neighbouring relative’s house.
According to the Police, the Principal of the school has lodged a complaint over the phone that a Grade three student of a school in Orugodawatta area had been beaten by her mother with a stick so that the little girl could not even sit on the chair in the class.
