Mudalige, seven others granted bail
Warrant issued on Mudalige for failing to appear in Fort Magistrate’s Court
IUSF Convener Wasantha Mudalige and seven others who were arrested during a protest on Thursday night were granted bail after being produced before the Mahara Magistrate yesterday.
They were released with personal surety of Rs.500,000 each. The Magistrate also ordered them to appear at the Kiribathgoda Police Station once a month.
The IUSF staged the protest on Thursday night demanding the Government to end the suppression on student activists at the Kelaniya University.
Meanwhile, Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday ordered that warrants be issued on IUSF Convener Wasantha Mudalige for failing to appear in Court, when a case against him was taken up before the Court yesterday. The case was filed
