Mullaitivu Magistrate R. Saravanarajah on Tuesday (19) nullified the previous order made to remove the newly made constructions at the Kurundaka Viharaya in Kurundumale, Mullaitivu.

He made this order following a scene visit he made to the Kurundumale temple on the same day along with attorneys-at-law and the police officials attached to the Mullativue Police.

The Magistrate also allowed to continue with the archaeological excavations made at the Kurundaka temple premises and in the surrounding areas. The Court also ordered to get legality to the construction, which were made recently.

Earlier, the Mullaitivu Magistrate Court ordered the Mullaitivu Police to remove the newly made constructions at the Kurundaka temple before July 29. However, the Mullativue Police by way of a motion informed the Mullativue Magistrate that issues may crop up, if the constructions were removed. Thereafter, the Magistrate Saravanarajah made the scene visit to the Kurundaka Temple.
