Multi-religious ceremonies for Police Day

Several religious ceremonies were held on the occasion of the 157th Police Day celebrations, on Saturday (2) and Sunday (3).

A Parithrana Dhamma Deshana was held on Saturday from 07.30 pm and the almsgiving was held yesterday at the conference hall at the Colombo DIG office.

Hindu religious rites were held yesterday at 8.30 am at New Kathiresan Hindu Kovil, Bambalapitiya and at 09.30 am a Catholic service was held at St. James Church, Modara. The Islamic religious rites were held at the Dewatagaha Mosque in Colombo.

Public Security Minister Tiran Alles, Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security Viyani Gunathilake, Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon, and many other Police officers participated in these events.
