INDIA : In the latest breakthrough into the investigation of the threat letter sent to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and his father and writer Salim Khan, Delhi Police confirmed that multiple attempts were made to kill the actor by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
“It would be right to say that there were more than one credible attempt to eliminate Salman Khan,” said Delhi Police special cell chief HGS Dhaliwal in an exclusive interview with Times Network on being asked about the attempts made by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang on actor Salman Khan.
Earlier on Friday, Times Network had revealed that Lawrence Bishnoi, who is a major suspect in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case, had sent a sharpshooter with a small-bore weapon in a modified hockey casing to kill the Bollywood actor. However, the attempt to assassinate Salman was withdrawn at the last moment.
HGS Dhaliwal speaking to the Times Network stated, “The mandate of the special cell is to look after for every angle for anti-terror and organised crime which affects the national capital region, especially Delhi. Most of the big crimes occasionally have a resonance in the capital and the Delhi Special Cell tries to take the move proactively whenever anything big happens. We also look for its implications in Delhi.”
“During the interrogation of Lawrence Bishnoi by the Mumbai Crime Branch, Maharashtra Police, and the special cell, we stumbled upon many facts which were in the domain previously and highlighted the threat to the Bollywood personality. So, it would be right to say that there were more than one credible attempt made by the gangster,” said Dhaliwala.
