Music teacher who beat up students under probe

A female student at the Karandeniya, Divithurawatta Tamil School has been hospitalised with injuries after a female teacher caned 12 students in Grade 6 of the School.

Police investigations have begun according to a complaint made by the girl’s father to the Elpitiya Police that the relevant teacher had not come to the class for their music subject in the sixth period.

The children as per the instructions of another teacher had gone to the music teacher’s quarters and reminded her about the music lesson. The teacher who got angry due to this had taken a cane and had beaten the students in a rage. Police are investigating the matter.
