Nalandian Raveen de Silva was a fine all-round cricketer
He scored 338 runs with a century and two half-centuries in six matches including a superb 170 against S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia.
Raveen also claimed 13 wickets for 165 runs in six matches and led the College team to the quarter-finals of the tournament to emerge as the leading all-rounder in the season.
Raveen started his career at his father’s cricket academy and thereafter, he was selected to the Nalanda College Cricket Academy in 2011.
He represented the Under-13 ‘A’ Team in 2014 and led the Under-13 ‘A’ Team, which entered the quarter-final round in 2015.
He represented the Under-17 Team in 2018 and led the Under-17 Team in 2019 and played in the Big Match in 2018 as a fresher.
Raveen represented the Sri Lanka Under-19 Team in three tours against Bangladesh, Australia and Pakistan in 2018 and 2019.
He has so far played in one Youth Test and in nine Youth One Day Internationals. (YK)
