The token strike that was planned to be held on Thursday (14) morning at the National Eye Hospital in Colombo was suspended.
The decision was reached following a discussion with Health Secretary Dr. Palitha Mahipala.
The token strike was planned over the failure of the Hospital Director and the Health Ministry to respond to the unprofessional behaviour of the Administrative Officer of the National Eye Hospital.
Colombo National Eye Hospital Director A.R.M Taufik, Deputy Director Dr. G. P. Batawala and a group of hospital staff including ophthalmologists and doctors participated in this discussion.
