The Presidential Secretariat has announced that National Integrity Week 2026 will be held from 27 to 31 July, under the theme “A Culture of Integrity – A Clean Sri Lanka.”

The initiative, aimed at building an integrity‑driven public service, will focus on eradicating corruption, strengthening ethical values, and promoting transparency across all state institutions.

The programme is designed not merely as a symbolic week but as the launch of short‑, medium‑, and long‑term reforms to transform the public service.

Each day of the week has been assigned a specific theme:

  • 27 July – Promotion of institutional integrity and a law‑abiding public service.
  • 28 July – Promotion of financial, digital, entrepreneurial and technological integrity.
  • 29 July – Promotion of spiritual, ethical, cultural and social integrity.
  • 30 July – Promotion of operational, infrastructure, service delivery and labour integrity.
  • 31 July – Promotion of environmental, resource management and sustainable green culture.

All ministries and state institutions are required to implement activities under these themes, coordinated through Internal Affairs Units or newly formed Integrity Committees.

On the opening day, public officers across the island will gather at 9.00 am to take the National Integrity Oath, pledging to uphold transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct.

Special events such as Integrity Walks, village‑level awareness programmes, and the display of the 10 Clean Sri Lanka Ideals in Sinhala, Tamil and English are also planned.

The initiative will culminate in the National Integrity Awards 2026, scheduled for International Anti‑Corruption Day on 9 December, to honour institutions and officers demonstrating exemplary performance in promoting integrity. (Newswire)
