National Savings Bank commemorates 50th anniversary
The National Savings Bank (NSB) commemorated its 50th anniversary at Water’s Edge under the patronage of its Chairperson Keasila Jayawardena, Director Board and Management. Inaugurated in 1972 by the late Finance Minister Dr. N.M. Perera the NSB today is a force to be reckoned with in Sri Lanka’s finance industry.
National Savings Bank (NSB)savings has exceeded Rs 1.3 trillion and currently is the 4th largest bank in Sri Lanka. NSB recorded the highest profits in its history in 2021 which was Rs 22 billion and had provided over 3.6 billion moratorium benefits to over 90% of its customers in the past year. The NSB has invested over Rs 800 billion in government bonds so far and is the only bank that gives a 100% government guarantee for customer deposits. NSB is the only local bank that received AAA certification for 19 consecutive years in a row.
NSB is to introduce many new digital features in the future and also won many awards in the past year for its excellent performance,.
