Navy helps extinguish fire in Wattala
The Sri Lanka Navy rushed a firefighting team to Wattala area following a sudden fire broke out at a house on the Church Road yesterday morning (1).
The Navy rushed its firefighting team to the scene of fire after the Wattala Police requested assistance from the Operations Room of the Western Naval Command, to extinguish the blaze and prevent the spread of fire to nearby properties.
Responding promptly to the request for assistance, the Navy hurried a firefighting team with a fire engine and one water bowser attached to SLNS Gemunu.
Partnered with the residents in the area the Navy firefighters rendered assistance to put out the fire, preventing further devastation.
The Navy remains standby to extend relief to the public battered by such eventualities around the clock.
