Navy nabs suspect with Kerala cannabis worth over of Rs. 4 mn

A special search operation conducted by the Navy in Pesalai, Mannar, on July 23 lead to the apprehension of a suspect with about 14 kgs and 980 g of Kerala cannabis.
The special search operation was mounted by SLNS Gajaba in the North Central Naval Command with the assistance of Mannar Police in Pesalai area.
The coordinated search made way for the apprehension of a suspect with 14kg and 980g of Kerala cannabis in seven packages, in his possession.
The gross street value of Kerala cannabis seized is believed to be over Rs. 4 million.
Meanwhile, the suspect was identified as resident of Pesalai, aged 34. The suspect together with Kerala cannabis was handed over to Mannar Police for onward legal proceedings.
