Navy opens two new RO plants for community
The Sri Lanka Navy, as part of its Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) project, inaugurated two new Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants in the Palugaswewa and Kekirawa areas of Anuradhapura on Friday (26).
Following the directives of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, the Sri Lanka Navy enabled its manpower and industrial expertise for the installation of RO plants. Accordingly, these two valuable projects, sequentially the 1020th and 1021st of such initiatives, addressed a longstanding necessity and came to fruition at the villages of Kumbukwewa and Shasthraweli in Palugaswewa and Kekirawa. The 02 projects were undertaken as part of the Ministry of Health’s initiatives and financial support of the Presidential Secretariat.
The new facilities will easily meet the need for safe drinking water for the residents of Kumbukwewa and Shasthraweli henceforth.
