Navy relief teams help flood affected O/L students

In the wake of inclement weather prevailing in several areas in the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, communities in those localities are facing hardships due to floods. In response to these developments, the Sri Lanka Navy on Sunday swiftly mobilized four relief teams to the Bulathsinhala, Baduraliya, Lathpandura and Kalawana areas to extend flood relief to affected communities.

As a result, the Navy relief teams also assisted a group of school children   who were stranded in the Lathpandura area of Baduraliya in the Kalutara district due to flash floods. Thus, the Navy provided a boat service to transport the students who were scheduled to sit for the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination. Furthermore, the Navy relief teams also worked to alleviate the hardships faced by the affected communities.
