NCCSL hosts ‘Australia SL Bilateral Trade & Investment session’ on Aug. 24.

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka is organizing bilateral trade & investment discussion between Sri Lanka and Australia on August 24, from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon at their Auditorium, at D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10.

High Commissioner of Australia to Sri Lanka, Paul Stephens will be the Special Guest Speaker and the session will be assisted by Commercial Counsellor.

Further, Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Australia Chitranganee Wagiswara is also expected to connect virtually during the event to greet the gathering & to speak briefly.

The participants will get an opportunity to have a close dialogue with the High Commissioner of Australia.

The overall purpose of this meeting is to discuss the current trade environment, investment opportunities/ services, policies and other important information with the view to promote and strengthen bilateral trade and investment between Sri Lanka and Australia.

Apparel, Tea Packets, Tea in Bulk, Tea Bagging, Packing, Cleaning, Weighing Machines, Industrial & Surgical Gloves of Rubber, Pneumatic & Retreated Rubber Tires and Tubes, Coconut products, Miscellaneous Edible Preparations, Coco Peat, Fiber Pith Molded products, Made-Up Textile Articles Electrical and Electronic Products, Glass & Glassware, Wall Tiles, Mattresses, Jewellery, Activated Carbon, Frozen Fish, Toys etc. are the main export products from Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka’s main imports from Australia includes, Cereals and its Products, Lentils, Cowpea, Meat, Fish and Dairy Produce, Paper, Petroleum Gases, Paints, Varnishes and Dyeing Extracts, Electrical and Electronic Products, Refined Copper and Lead Alloys, Fruits, Pharmaceutical Products, Sugar and Confectionery and Bakery Products, Perfumes, Cosmetics, Shampoos and Makeup Preparations Telecommunication equipment, phone Sets, Woven Fabrics, Products of Base Metal, Animal Feed Aluminum, Copper and other Metals.
