NCCSL hosts ‘South Africa, Sri Lanka Bilateral Trade session’ on July 20

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) is organising a bilateral trade and investment discussion between Sri Lanka and South Africa on July 20, from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon at the National Chamber Auditorium, D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10.

High Commissioner of South Africa to Sri Lanka, Sandile Edwin Schalk will be the Special Guest Speaker and the session will be assisted by Commercial Counsellor. Further, Sri Lankan High Commissioner in South Africa Gamini Gunawardane is also expected to connect virtually during the event.

The participants will get an opportunity to have a close dialogue with the High Commissioner of South Africa.

The overall purpose of this meeting is to discuss the current trade environment, investment opportunities/services, policies and other important information with the view to promote and strengthen bilateral trade and investment between Sri Lanka and South Africa.

Sri Lanka’s main exports to South Africa are Tea, apparel, retreaded or used pneumatic tyres, activated carbon, other vegetable textile fibres, crepe rubber, other articles of vulcanized rubber, articles of apparel and clothing, new pneumatic tyres of rubber.

Sri Lanka’s Main Imports from South Africa are Bituminous coal, iron and steel; articles of iron and steel, diamonds, organic chemicals, copper, plants and parts of plants, beverages, spirits and vinegar, seeds, fruit and spores, maize, oranges fresh.
