The Netherlands Embassy together with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) invites policymakers and private sector organizations considering climate investment for an online session on climate finance on February 9 from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm.

The Dutch development bank – FMO – will be presenting key insights on accessing international climate finance and current developments. The session aims to share insights with policymakers, financial institutions and the private sector to understand from International Financial Institutions what possibilities could be accessed by Sri Lanka and what considerations should be in place to successfully access climate finance instruments.

This session is hosted as a continuation of the Joint Dialogue on Climate and Water hosted by the Netherlands Embassy together with the International Water Management Institute last October, where the focus of the dialogue was on aligning Sri Lanka with global climate negotiation processes such as COP27 as well as climate and water security.

A session on climate finance was conducted by colleagues from the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) during the Joint Dialogue where the audience of policymakers and the private sector requested more information and a further session on accessing international climate finance given the current economic situation in Sri Lanka. The session serves as a follow-up and the embassy extends an invitation to professionals interested in accessing international climate finance.
