Grade 13 student and up and coming all round cricketer who bats right hand down the order and bowls right arm off spin captain of the under 20 Football, Elle and Volleyball teams member of the school volleyball teams for four years, District and Provincial Cricketer, Colts Cricket Club Colombo player Nethmi Sanjana has brought honour and glory to her two schools Mahinda Vidyalaya Anuradhapura and Nivanthaka Chethiya Maha Vidyalaya Anuradhapura with her deeds in the field of sports.
Nethmi who hails from Parasangaswala Anuradhapura was born on 1 st Januray 2004 and initially admitted to Mahinda Maha Vidyalaya Anuradhapura and when she was in Grade 3 and 4 she participated in Athletics and did Long Jump events at the Inter House Sports Meets. She was drafted to Nivanthaka Chethiya Maha Vidyalaya in 2009 to Grade 6 and she commenced Volleyball and she was in Grade 7 and played for four years for the school under 16 team. Then she captained the school Football and Elle teams and she was the under 20 captain of both these games and participated for the Divisional and Zonal tournaments. Though she did these games her parents S. L. Susantha and R. M. S. Rajaguru realizing that their daughters forte is cricket handed over her to the school cricket coach. Kobewatta and she got selected for the school under 19 cricket team and played in the Divisional, Zonal and Provincial Tournaments.
Kobewatta noticing her talents introduced her to the Anuradhapura Provincial Cricket Coach Anton Costa and she played in Anuradhapura District tournament and played for the under 19 Super Provincial Tournament in 2022. From there . Costa introduced her to . Kanishlka Perera the coach of Colombo Colts Cricket Club and last year her first attempt was All Island Ladies Clubs League Tournament where 15 teams participated and Colts were the Second Runner Up and in five matches she claimed 9 wickets and her ambition is to play for Sri Lanka in the future.
