New changes at UNP Convention in August – Range

The UNP has decided to limit the number of Working Committee members by making several changes to the Party’s Constitution in the next Party Convention which will be held in August.

UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara revealed this in Kandy on Saturday (8).

He also emphasized that more responsibilities in the National Youth Front and Lakvanitha Front and representation in the party working committee will be given to talented young professionals. The General Secretary said that every working committee member will be assigned responsibilities and the party leader will monitor every three months whether those responsibilities are being fulfilled. He stressed that a programme to make the Working Committee into a more action oriented rather than a talk shop will begin from August.
