New foreign missions to be opened

The Government has decided to open several new foreign missions and to restart some of the temporarily closed missions to further strengthen diplomatic relations with foreign countries. Accordingly, in addition to opening new missions, Sri Lanka has planned to reopen some foreign missions that were closed earlier, Foreign Affairs Minister Ali Sabry, PC said.

Under this programme, the Minister said that the Cabinet consent will sought to reopen the missions in Iraq, Germany’s Frankfurt and Cyprus which were temporarily closed and also to open new missions in New Zealand, Morocco and Rwanda.
