New media spokesperson to the Prisons Department appointed

Prisons Commissioner Mr. Gamini .B. Dissanayake has been appointed as the new media spokesperson of the Prisons Department.

Mr. Dissanayake, who currently holds the position of Commissioner of Prisons (Rehabilitation), joined the Prisons Department as an Assistant Superintendent of Prisons in 2013 and held the position of Assistant Superintendent of Weeravila, Matara, Mahara, prisons and Prison Headquarters (Intelligence and Security Sections).

After that, Mr. Dissanayake, who worked as the superintendent of Badulla, Angunacolapalassa Welikada and Magazine prisons, also worked as the senior prison superintendent of the prison headquarters.

Mr. Dissanayake is an alumnus of Diyathilaka Central college, Haguranketha and holds a Bachelor of Business Management from Rajarata University and a Post Graduate Degree in Sociology from Peradeniya University.
